Build Together: HRDF-Claimable Teambuilding Workshop with Nestrade
On 10th October 2025, we hosted a creative and hands-on HRDF-claimable teambuilding workshop with the amazing team from Nestrade. It was a half-day session full of teamwork, creativity, and laughter — the perfect blend of fun and collaboration through woodworking.
Kicking Off with a Fun Icebreaker
To get everyone warmed up, we started with a lively icebreaker game that encouraged teamwork and communication.
Participants were split into small groups, and one chosen team member was blindfolded while the rest guided them — using only verbal instructions — to draw a mystery object. The result? Lots of laughs, a few “creative” drawings, and a great reminder that clear communication is key in any successful team.
Hands-On Woodworking: Building and Bonding
Once the ice was broken, it was time to get creative! Each participant built their own individual project, choosing between a mosaic drawer box or a monitor stand. While everyone had their own piece to complete, there was constant collaboration — helping hands sanding edges, assembling parts, and selecting the perfect mosaic combinations.
What truly stood out was how each person’s creativity shone through. The mosaic designs reflected their personalities — some colourful and expressive, others sleek and minimalist. By the end, every participant had a finished piece they could proudly take home as a reminder of what they built together as a team.
Sustainably Sourced Local Malaysian Wood
All materials used during the workshop were locally and sustainably sourced from PEFC-certified suppliers. We used a selection of Malaysian hardwoods — surian, nyatoh, and mersawa — each chosen for its workability, character, and beauty.
